Default Before I buy SEIV Gold...

Would somebody be so kind as to answer a couple of questions?

1.Does the 200 MB CD rom of user created mods that come with the game contain race/ships from popular Scifi TV shows and movies? ( ie. Star Trek, etc)

2. How does this game compare to MOO3 which will soon be released? I realize this is a difficult question to ask on a forum dedicated to this game and the fact that MOO3 isn't even out yet, but if somebody who has experience playing MOO2, and can conjecture what MOO3 will be like, AND can give me an honest, unbiased, objective opinion, I would greatly appreciate it!

3. How does the AI fare in this game? PBM would not be feasible for me at this point.

I'd really appreciate some opinions as well as answers to these questions. Thanks alot!!

1. No. It will create a LOT of copy right problems. You will have to download ST,Babylon5, etc races from this board.

2. Moo3 does not exist yet, so SE IV is infinitely better I'll buy Moo3 when it comes out but I have a strong feeling I would still play SEIV even then because of its incompariable customisibility.

3. Playing against humans is of course better, but sometimes TDM races at highest settings will give you some masochistic enjoyment

Re #3: I agree that TDM is a must have.
If you really want a tooth-and-nail fight, you can try my Pirates & Nomads mod (playing as a Pirate, or Nomadic race, naturally).
You can even patch the TDM races for use in P&N, if you dare

As stated the copy right issues made such inclusion impossible. However you can download all the sets from PBW, USY, KDY, NASY (soon to be back up), and from here.

Since Moo3 has not yet been released, a comparisson is impossible. The reported features of Moo3 will make it a unique game all to its own, thus again making a comparission kindred to apples and oranges. In response to Moo2, the game rocks over it 10 to 1 IMHO. Moo2 is a great game that I will always love, but SEIVG just has so many extra's and such that it has won my heart away from Moo2.

You should read some of my latest Posts. The AI has proven to be rather good recently. Of course, with all the AI mods out, the AI has become very powerful on high settings.
