Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
Er, anyone here a Terry Pratchett fan? I would guess that Growltigger is, from his sig, and his recent comment about a shower button in the Phong's head that sounds awfully like a certain feature of a certain boarded-up washroom made by one B. S. Johnson at the UU . . .

Yes, I'm a fan, but I haven't read all of his books because I'm buying them in the order they were published. The next one on my list is Reaper Man.

Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
Gwaihirr, I am a major league Pratchett fan, and have ALL his books (save for The Truth and Nightwatch) signed by the man himself.
Personal fave I think is a three way tie between Pyramids, Small Gods and Men at Arms...
I just love the opening seen of Pyramids with Teppic arming himself with all those weapons and then falling over (I can see that in a movie), and what with "the shouting into the bulrush episode".. bloody marvellous!

Hello, this is my first post on these Boards.
As anyone who has read Reaper Man should know i am a Terry Pratchett fan (a very good book if you like Death). I think ive read most of the Discworld books, but i dont make lists so i dont know.
(Memo to self: re-read Pyramids... as i dont remember alot of it.)

i can consider myself a fan. i've read many books but they were in Russian and they werent that many (that is, the only ones i could buy in Israel). Right now i see the series are quite huge but from what i know one has to have a very good understanding of english to enjoy these books judging by the deep wordgames in the russian Version. i'll get back on the series soon enough myself.

Yay! lotsa fans!
Growltigger, you have them SIGNED ?!?!?!
How did you manage that?!
I get the claim to fame that my sister made him a WIZZARD hat, and we have a pic of him wearing it . . . actually I'll see if i can post a scan here. Now if only we could meet him and kiss his feet or something.
I'm just finishing up the Last books, having recently bought all of the ones i hadn't read yet.

My favorite is The Light Fantastic. I actually dropped the book twice while reading it, I was laughing so hard. While the others are wonderful, none of them (so far) have taken me there again.

Re: Banananana Daquiri, Anyone? (Pratchett Fans Unite)
Gwaihir, Terry Pratchett was holding a signing in London for "Interesting Times" when I worked there. I went in, bought all the books, and got him to sign every one.
It was great, he stamps each books with a UU stamp (has the motto on it) and put a message in each one which was related to the book eg in "Interesting Times" he put, "to Rob (for that is my real name) live in interesting times".
He has done a couple of other signings and each time, I have got all the books and got him to sign the lot.
Forgot, my favourite is probably The Last Continent.
Dunno why but strolling around saying "No worries, she'll be right", "bonza" and "anyone fancy a meat pie floater and a couple of tinnies?" just suits me down to the ground...
Perhaps I am just a frustrated Australian (aren't they all?)
The jewel of my book collection BTW is a first edition lord of the rings signed by JRR himself.
