Magic level 9?
Newbie question:
I'm considering putting all my eggs in one basket: spend lots of points to pump myself up to level 9 in one discipline (say, death) and the rest getting earth 4, for the best artifacts. Is this a reasonable strategy? Thanks! Merry

Re: Magic level 9?
Depends what nation, it could work for Ermor which can have lots of points from taking bad scales. Also golden era Arcoscephale can control bad dominion scales with sceptics. Lastly, Mictlan has the ability to control it's dominion with blood sacrifice, thus keeping bad scales out of many provinces.

Regarding Mictlan - doesn't it simply push its dominion via blood sacrifices? Meaning that if it has really bad scales from the Pretender setup, it's pushing those bad scales, and the bad effects that accompany them?

Well, yes, but it's a viable strategy to use sacrifice to keep dominion strong in one area and let the rest go neutral (though someone's dominion will come along sooner or later).

Are you talking about pretender design? if so having one path lvl 9 is not uncommon, because of the extra bless effect which kicks in at lvl 9. This can be quite potent, though expensive.

Re: Magic level 9?
I'd only do it if I plan on MANY MANY MANY sacred units. Otherwise, I'd just empower to improve my skills
