Re: size
kT is a measurement of size standing for kiloton, meaning 1000 tons. 1000kT by comparison = 1mT or one megaton, meaning one million tons.

Re: size
Ok, I get all that, but what is 1K? I have a war head that does 1K of damage. I'm trying to figure out how many war heads I will need to knock out a ships armor.

Re: size
k = kilo = 1000
M = mega = 1 million
1.5k damage = 1500 damage
Note that rounding could mean that 1k damage is anywhere from 1000 to 1999 damage. Check the components.txt for exact numbers.

Re: size
T hanks guys, I just wanted to confirm that my 1K war head would knock out 1000kT of armor. Not even close to the damage I need to do.

Re: size
Also, keep in mind that the hitpoints of your own ship are added to the damage done.
Armor is often better than warheads, since it provides protection as well. Heavily armored ships can ram lots of times... especially if they have organic armor and take a breather between hits.

In SEIV or SEV terms, yes that 1k warhead will destroy 1000kT of whatever components (in this case, armor). This is due to the fact that weapon damages in SEIV/SEV are always determined in kT destroyed, so essentially when it says 1k damage, it means that it will destroy 1k kT, meaning 1000kT destroyed. Somewhat odd, but that is (as far as I can remember) how it works
