indy prov
In a MP game I now see an indie province with
longdead giants, heavy infantery and 2 cyclops
never seen that before.. would like to know an indication of the strengt of such a province, are the cyclops (polyperchon one is called) magic users and if so how strong... total strength is 30 pplz
if this is a very overpowerd indy prov then I'd like to know before I burn myself.. if there is loot to get I'd like to know too so I can make sure I get it.

Re: indy prov
There are few Cyclops, Earth/Death mages IIRC. One of them wields unique Hammer of the Cyclops, which has forge bonus 50. There's a unique Earth site in there IIRC, produces earth and death gems or something similar.
Send a scout in to see what they have.

Re: indy prov
I can't say how difficult this province is for sure but quess it's hard, two cyclops and all that.
For loot, I remember having read that the cyclops Polywhatever has hammer of the cyclops, which gives 50% forge bonus and that's crazy good.

Re: indy prov
You really want that Hammer of the Cyclops, make sure to use some attack rear guys, preferably flyers so he does not escape and make sure you put a few commanders in, so one picks the hammer up.
Just surround the province until you have a satisfactory force to take it and capture the hammer.

Re: indy prov
Yep, massive number of extra commanders is good. The great thing is that the undead don't break easily so he won't run away too quick. If you have enough fast troops, you can swarm him.
Polypercheron and the other cyclops will use magic, though, but they have paths where the AI does not have a good selection in the grimoire.

Re: indy prov
IIRC they have extended grimoire. I distinctly remember my pretender getting hosed by the death-mage cyclops casting Disintegrate.
Ouchie.

Paralyze is your friend in battles like this. Big target with a key item. Paralyze x50 FTW!
