Use of Haste
Does haste affect the number of attacks like quickness or only movement? Is it a self inflicted fatigue drain only used mainly in specialized back row flying attacks? Curious were others have used it.

Re: Use of Haste
Only movement. It does not increase fatigue iirc, except when used on tramplers, and then only because they can trample more times in a turn.

Re: Use of Haste
Haste essentially doubles the effectiveness of tramplers, which is its main use. This also multiplies with quickness (quickening) resulting in 4X as much trampling...though it's a pain to pull off if you're using a bunch of tramplers. Finally, adding (mass) flight on top ensures all movement points are spent on trampling, which can be a very nasty combo...particularly if you use 0-encumbrance units like behemoths and leviathans who don't care about all the extra fatigue (remember, flying adds its own fatigue as well). Just one or two flying, hasted, quickened behemoths does quite enough damage in a single round to justify the effort if you've got all those paths, particularly considering you can pull it off with a very meager ench4/alt3 research...which also lets you add on body ethereal & luck (with a hair more research) if you happen to have one more path at your disposal. Hehe, the best part (for me) is the image of a giant rotting elephant zooming out of the sky at mac-5 and smushing huge swaths of enemy formation in big putrid strafing runs. Its a bird! It's a plane! It's...OH CRAP!

Re: Use of Haste
Weeeeell ... I've thought of casting it on mages who can then (buff)(attack)(attack)(scripted spell)(scripted spell) instead of (buff)(attack)(attack)(attack)(attack)(let the AI take over).

PS Thanks for all those guides too. Seems like we have quite a few new players on the forum ready to soak up wisdom from you and the other vets. Dom3 seems very much still alive in late 2009.

Re: Use of Haste
Add on question... Would haste increase a first strike charge bonus for cavalry ?(since it works off action points)?

Re: Use of Haste
Not to my knowledge. I believe that haste subtracts one from the cost per square.
