Re: Use of Haste
Haste essentially doubles the effectiveness of tramplers, which is its main use. This also multiplies with quickness (quickening) resulting in 4X as much trampling...though it's a pain to pull off if you're using a bunch of tramplers. Finally, adding (mass) flight on top ensures all movement points are spent on trampling, which can be a very nasty combo...particularly if you use 0-encumbrance units like behemoths and leviathans who don't care about all the extra fatigue (remember, flying adds its own fatigue as well). Just one or two flying, hasted, quickened behemoths does quite enough damage in a single round to justify the effort if you've got all those paths, particularly considering you can pull it off with a very meager ench4/alt3 research...which also lets you add on body ethereal & luck (with a hair more research) if you happen to have one more path at your disposal. Hehe, the best part (for me) is the image of a giant rotting elephant zooming out of the sky at mac-5 and smushing huge swaths of enemy formation in big putrid strafing runs. Its a bird! It's a plane! It's...OH CRAP!
