Default Ship Sets

You know, I am very proud of the sets that I have compiled. I recently played with all of them in one game, and switched between them every 100 turns. Of the sets that I have made, mind you that I am proud of them all, I really like how the Cardassian and the Ferengi sets turned out. I mean they were a bare to find ships for, but I did it, and they all look great in game.

The Dominion and Breen set are quite nice as is the 8472 set. I love the TOS, and TMP sets, and really enjoyed making them.

The Borg still need a little help, and they are prolific as many people have made Borg, Klingon, STNG, and Romulan sets.

I am proud of the uniqness that my sets have, as my sets have ships that no other sets do have. That makes me feel good, but never the less these sets are abundant.

I remember when I first made a set. I was hooked, and had to make another, and another, and another.

The Dominion and the Breen sets were original as no one had really made one yet. I know that I was working on a set at the time that others were, and there work is above reproach. (In other words great)

I espiecally enjoyed putting together the 8472 and Breen sets. They were the hardest to make for me as I had no ships for them, and had to make them nearly from scratch.

Making ship sets, is hared work, no actually its not hard at all, its time consuming. But the pay off is when the set is done, and it looks better than you expected.

That was the case with the Starwolf set. I set out to make one day, and by then next morning, it was done. Say for the AI, which I fiddle with for a while before having to use a modified Version of the Rage AI.

I really enjoy making these sets, and as much as I am proud of them, and know that many others use the images I have gathered, a true complement if you ask me.

I love the way many of my sets look in game, and if not for all the help and feed back I got from the people who used them, they would not look as good as they do. I take a lot of pride in making them look as good as the ships that come from MM, as they set the standard by which all others are measured.

I know this is kind of a long post, and I thank you for reading it. I just wanted to let people know that I was proud of my work, and pleased with my self on a personal level for having done such good work.

(Critics aside, as I hope there are none, I love all of my sets, and hope other enjoy them too.)

Default Re: Ship Sets

I feel the same way about my own shipsets, and allways include them in my games, and also sometimes switch between them or at least check how ther're goinig during the game.
I always find details I don't like and if you could compare my shipsets now with their first release you´d see how much they were improved in time.
I like your shipsets, but I think most of them they still need to be improved until they look as good as Malfador's originals.(I'll have to send you my semi modded Versions)
I don't like the use of Vorlon ships in the 8472 shipset (they should be reserved for a future Vorlon shipset), or the strange names in the Federation shipsets or having Kirk or Picard as portrait and other name as Emperor Name.

Default Re: Ship Sets

I agree about the vorlon set, and that is one thing that I am working on to change in time. I want to create unique ships for 8472, and get away from the vorlon.

The portraits, I agree, I would rather have something else, but most people want them.

The stange names, I don't understand.

I use many of your sets, and for the most part, they are brilliant. However, many of the Star Wars sets have small things that kinda seem out of place like the oversized fighters. The undersized capital ships, and a few other graphic thingys.

You know, I think a person could work on a set forever, and never really be happy with it. I am luck, as you are, we both have sets that we enjoyed making, and for the most part, they rock.
