Re: Ranks and the like
Except for advisor ( reserved for Shrapnel staff, I think.) rank is based on how many Posts you make. Just keep posting and you'll get "promoted".

Re: Ranks and the like
Yep, Advisors are Shrapnel employees, the developers, or their representatives. The other ranks are based on how many Posts you've made.
SpecOps means you're a forum moderator, which is not based on the number of Posts, but rather that you've been asked to help out in a particular section.
If I'm not mistaken, you'll be promoted to Corporal after just 10 Posts. The higher your rank, the more it takes to get promoted again. IOW, by the time you are trying to move up from, say, Captain to Major, it'll take dozens and dozens of Posts to move up.

Re: Ranks and the like
Thanks for that! I was starting to think I was going to be the only spear chucker around for the rest of time! Cheers!
Thankfully this is an American company or I'd have to be a Lance Corporal first (In the Uk that rank comes before CPL and doesnt pay any higher than Private)(Corporal just sounds better anyway)
