I just realized...
that I'm playing dominions for more then one year now. This is quite amazing as no other game (except Dungeon Master in the gold old days) has kept me playing it for such a long time.
Congratulations to Illwinter for this fine piece of work :-)

Re: I just realized...
Thats what I like to tell people. Download the demo. If you can get thru it then buy the game because it will give you FAR more time for the money than any shelfware.

I was expecting the same thing, but its starting to get very dull. The games against the computer seem to all be a merry go round of the AI conquering undefended provinces or provines with just defense and me recapturing them and then pushing the AI back and conquering them. The battles seem quite dull to. THere's inovation, but I dunno. I loved the demo, and now...I'm really dissapointed. It could be just a matter of prefrence I guess. I think I'd like it a lot more if I could get in on some mutliplayer games. ie-human opponents.

Re: I just realized...
well, you see, its not really a single player game...
to really see it stretch, you need to play it against real opponents.

Re: I just realized...
I had the same experience, Birthday. SP games of dom2 always seemed to devolve into what I termed "wack-a-mole" tactics with the AI and it was quite boring. There are ways ... to organize your empire so that the AI behaves a little more rationally, but really you should just play MP, as you have said.
The minute you do that the game takes on an incredible new level of breadth and diversity that just blows your mind. I highly suggest you get into it. Come by the irc channel tomorrow (sunday) and join a blitz, or go to the MP Boards and look for an opening game.

Re: I just realized...
Hmm. I actually quite enjoy playing single-player as well as multi-player. I think single-player is pretty challenging if you choose enough AI nations and a small enough map so that you have to fight them early on, and/or give the AI bonuses and perhaps limit your tactics a little bit.
Of course all games are matters of individual taste. Personally I like watching all the battle replays.
