Default Disappearing treaties... bug?

I've been noticing a pattern, where some race will offer a treaty, I will accept, then the next turn, or within a few turns, they will offer the same treaty. I then check and we have no treaty.

In the most recent instance, I had a partnership with a neutral race, and they then offered a Trade Alliance... I checked the treaties and had none with them. UGH.

Also, is there some variable for each AI race like "Max treaty levels allowed" where every treaty they have with someone counts for X points and once they reach the max they won't make any more treaties? I had the Terrans declare war on me, we never fought cuz we were so far away... and then they got around to brotherly and stayed there forever, but they would never accept any treaties I offered, from non-intercourse all the way to partnership.

there are "switches" in the AI politics file. Not sure how they work though.

There are limits to the max treaty a race will enter into. I think it is in the Politic file. Some of the modded races won't accept any type of trade treaty while others will take anything you ask for.

Yeah, but I'd had a partnership with the Terrans at one point, and then they slowly dwindled to murderous, broke it, then came back up to brotherly and wouldn't accept ANY treaties.

What I was talking about was something like:

"a partnership counts for 4 points, MA=3 points, TR=2 points, TA=1 point. Race X has a max of 10 treaty points. If it already has two partnerships and a T&R Alliance--which adds up to 10 points--they cannot accept any more treaties until an existing one is broken."

Is there something like this going on?

I don't think there is anything like that. In fact the whole Politics and Anger is wierd.
Some races get angry if you have colonies on planets they can see. When you enter into a partnership they can see all your colonies and get pissed real fast. Some get mad over their enemies colonies. Some don't get mad about colonies at all.
It is very common to get a Partnership treaty and have them be brotherly toward you then 2-3 turns later the treaty is broken and they are murderous. Strange eh.

...and if you're not familiar with MEE (Mega Evil Empire), search for that on the threads. Basically, if you're a certain pint level (percentage, number, etc), no AI will accept any treaty whatsoever.

Also some of the mod packs have AI's that just WILL NOT accept treaties.....
