Does it matter if someone plays Ermor? Are they way over powered or something?
PS - I am kinda new as well.

Yes Ermor are very powerful. As long as the rest of us act accordingly then there should be no problem. But if you treat LA Ermor as an ordinary neighbour then there will be problems.
Basically LA Ermor should comfortably win any 1v1 conflicts.
Plus his dominion kills population very very quickly so even at peace with him he trashes your lands (Ermors domain should always be 10 and he will be actively spreading it). So it is extremely hard to fight him in his lands (low or no pop = no supplies). And unwise to be next to him
His army grows hugely and losses are fairly meaningless to him. He will soon field armies of hundreds, then thousands and not really care if they get destroyed so long as he is causing your armies damage in the process. Expect his army after the first year to be many times the next strongest on the graphs. He is rubbish at sieging forts though
His army looks more scary on the graphs and on the field than it really is, but numbers in the end do count.
Of course this power comes at a price. It is hard for Ermor to make friends and strong though he is he can't fight everyone else at once. At least unless the rest of us let him get established
The reason why he (and LA R'lyeh) are so often banned is not that they always win. Although they are strong they can be ganged up on and pulled down. But that they dominate the game that they are in. All of the rest of us have to play with Ermor in mind. Build lots of priests (Banishment is the best spell vs Ermor for a long while), fight him or at least not fight those who are etc. Until he is dead or has won. If you do kill him off there is then a large dead (no pop) area where he once was.... This game will be all about LA Ermor. That is both good and bad
