Multiple attacks on Commander question
Wondering if anyone could answer this, I am sure I am just missing something but...
I equipped the Frost Brand (16d 4attks) and Boots of Quickness on one of my melee commanders.
This should give me a total of 5 attacks, or at the very least, a unmodified 4 attacks. But when right clicking the attack info, it only shows 1 attack. On a previous commander, who I can't find now, it showed all the attacks he had, and what attack value each one had.
Can anyone help explain why he is only showing one attack?

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
Attack value is different than number of attacks. Attack value of a weapon increases the to-hit chance. Number of attacks is a separate stat, and e.g. Sword of Quickness has that ability.
You can see all the commander's weapons, and their respective attack values, by right-clicking on his attack (Att) value. Weapons with multiple attacks are listed only once in there, but all the unit's weapons are listed. So some of the Foul Spawns could have four tentacle attacks listed, while another might have two Claws attacks both attacking twice.
Besides that, Quickness always gives you whole round. So if you had four weapons (i.e. you are a Nataraja), you'd have 8 attacks instead of 5, twice with every weapon.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
the boots of quickness will show up when you click on move, it will reflect as double his action points, which means that he may do all those attacks twice per turn.
the frost brand will only show up as 1 attack, which will be thrown 4 times, (8 times with the boots of quickness for a max of two enemies killed per turn, since all the attacks will be aimed at the same enemy, each time he makes them) I suppose.
The other commander must have had more than one weapon. if a nataraja had 4 single handed weapons, it would reflect as attack 1 through 4. Also I think if it is a mounted commander, his horses attacks show up in there too. basically the attack skill screen will show the hit modifier for each weapon, when it is used, not the number of attacks. for instance a knight usually has a sword, a lance, and hoof attacks - so 3 are listed.
your commander with the frost brand only has 1 weapon, so only one will be listed.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
Ok, that makes sense. I totally botched that one, looking now I see that there is actually a different value for say the sword of quickness; nbr of attacks.
There are multiple items that speed you up as well as spells. Do these stack?
For example:
Sword of Quickness, Jade Armor, Boots of Quickness + orders set to cast Haste (or whatever the personal verison is).
Would this give you:
Base round - 2 Attacks (Sword of Swift)
+2 attacks (Jade Armor)
+2 Attacks (Boots of Quick)
+2 Attacks (Spell)
For a total of 8 attacks per turn.
Assuming this is true, this does not mean he could kill 8 enemies per turn right? Maximum in this config would be 4 kills per round?

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
Boots of Quickness, Jade Armor and the spell Quickness all give the same effect (that of the Quickness spell). Because it's the same effect, it doesn't stack.
There are three other ways of acquiring quickness, and at least two of these stacks with the common quickness. They are the Heroic Quickness Hall of Fame ability, which increases over time, Water 9 blessing, and the Champion's Trident.
The Heroic Quickness stacks with normal quickness, as it gives a percentual ability.
Water 9 blessing gives a blessed unit 50% chance of having a second action each round. It's not sure whether this is random or deteministic (2 actions on the first turn, then 1, then 2, then 1 , then ...). This also stacks with normal quickness, AND with Heroic Quickness.
Champion's Trident either gives the normal quickness, as Jade Armor/Boots of Quickness, or yet another Quickness ability that stacks with them. I think it doesn't stack, but I'm not sure about it.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
I believe Jade Armor and Boots of Quickness duplicate the quickness spell and thus do not stack with it, or each other.
Heroic quickness does stack, as does W9 bless.
Also, though it wouldn't apply to a single weapon, but apply to the Nataraja mentioned above, all attacks in single action will target units in the same square.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
Are you guys certain that the water 9 blessing stacks with regular quickness? (Like, actually tested this.) 'Cause I believe I've seen testimonials to the opposite effect on this forum earlier.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
the w9 bless doesn't give the same bonuses as regular quickness (+3 att/def), its a different effect. Not sure about herioc quickness though.

Re: Multiple attacks on Commander question
Champion's Trident doesn't stack with normal quickness:
... and it seems Quickness and Water Blessing work in mysterious ways.
Also, it seems I have actually forgotten some of the information I once had:
I had degenerated into thinking it was actually random!
That last thread mentions Heroic Quickness as well, but it all seems too complicated for anyone to grasp. E.g. the whole thread was started because Communion Master seemed to affect Quickness.
