Assasination spell during castle siege?
I wonder what happens if assasination spell is casted to a sieged castle.
If I am sieging the castle, will the spell attack the defender?
If I am being seiged, will the spell attack the sieger?
If third parties are sieging/defending, who will be spell attack? Both possible?

Re: Assasination spell during castle siege?
There are no allies, so if you cast an assassination spell at a castle under siege, say Earth Attack, it is random who your Earth Elemental will attack.
If you are the force laying siege to the castle, your assassination spell will hit the other player's mage inside the castle.
That clearly applies to spells like Earth Attack and Disease Demon that hit enemy commanders inside castles, and also to spells like seeking arrow and fire from afar that hit only enemy forces and also target enemies located inside castles.
Manifestation can target your own casting mage. And Leprosy will target your forces if they are in a province as well as enemy forces. Leprosy of course is not an assassination spell.
Hope that helps some.

Remote spells are "smart" when it comes to sieging, and I'm pretty sure that the manual explains it quite well.

Re: Assasination spell during castle siege?
Someone once told me that fires from afar would hit both armies in a province...
Is this not indeed the case?
Assuming that the caster is also one of the two forces involved.
If its a 3rd party would it hit both armies or only one?

Just the sieging army if it's casted by a third party.

Re: Assasination spell during castle siege?
If you are sieging a castle(breaking down the walls) and one of your mages casts fires from afar, it will hit the army inside the castle, not your army.
Except for castle sieges, you cannot have 2 armies in the same province, unless you are referring to a stealth army?

All of them except manifestation are smart. Manifestation has a 50% chance of hitting any individual in the province. I had it take out a member of my beseiging army in Aquarium while I was trying to get their beseiged commanders.

manifestation states in the description that it may hit your own mage. So I think it is designed to be risky since it is so powerful.
Unless leprosy has been changed in a recent patch, I do not believe it is "smart." It hits everyone in the province. I know for a fact it used to, though I have not tested it recently.

It doesn't just hit your mage. It can also hit commanders you may have in the targeted province. Like I said, it hit a unit that was beseiging the castle I was trying to target.
I didn't mention leprosy as not smart because it is not an assassination spell.
