Compare SE4 to Stars!

I'm wondering if any of you out there have had experience playing Stars! ? I found that to be an excellent game in the past.

Is SE4 a vastly different game? better game? etc...

Although Stars! is a very good game, SEIV is quite, quite better. It has more depth of gameplay in all fronts and for me a better game design that Stars!...

I'm more interested in seeing how S!SG stands up vs SEIV. While Stars! is over 5 years old, its successor looks to have more depth over the previous Version.

Several years ago, I was considering purchasing Stars! but decided against it because I thought it was too complicated.
