New Nation: Absaroka
This Mod adds a new Mid-Aera nation:
Absaroka.
Story short: Tribal Nation with Wendigos in the leading.
Now 1.0!
Some words about balancing so far:
Magic: The nation has quite some magic access. However the casters are also quite expencive, makeing them hard to use as researchers and combat-casters, save both.
I'd like some feedback from Linux-users whether the sub-directory-thing for pictures works.
Oh, and the Subtitle "Blood Moon Rising" is:
-The name of a national spell - No Summoning and hopefully thomething that will be a little buffed in a final distant version - if the moding options are improved then.
-The first of 3. I'm planing an early and a late version, too, through the wendigo-part is only for mid-aera.

Latest changes:
hero3.tga was bad. fixed

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
Always nice to see the various aboriginal nations better represented. Thank you.

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
But I have ... whoops, it's not in the zip, because it's not in the pic-dir.
Corrected - together with 2 or 3 very minor mistakes.

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
Okay, the Nation is officially 1.0.
Since the 0.9er Version:
-1 Wendigo pretender and added 2 limited pretenders of other nations.
-2 Heros and 1 Multi-Hero.
-Names!
-Minor stuff (here a number, there a pixel).
I think it's ready so far. Changes are still to be made, specificly in the textes, some pics and some features depending on future patches that I had to workaround this time.
There can still be ... mistakes ... in there, I ran a quick testgame and it seamed to work but you never know.
Balancingwise they are strong. I think slightly behind Niefelheim - but only slightly.

Also fixed the icon

Nice to see you care. They tell you:
Code:
Något gick fel!
myloadmalloc: can't open mods/Absaroka_pics\banner.tga
Replace all backslashes with normal slashes, this works for Windows, too. Then they'll tell you
Code:
Något gick fel!
myloadmalloc: can't open mods/Absaroka_pics/Rage1a.tga
Please do carefully check for case via a cmd window or by setting some option in windows explorer -> folder settings. To rename to the right case, first rename a file to some totally different name. If you try to just fix the case for filenames, Windows will kick you in the nuts, keep the old case and just ignore what you tried to do with the name.

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
By the way, for the linux users, here's a quick way to rename the files to the correct case via bash:
Code:
for files in *; do mv $files `echo ${files:0:1} | tr '[:lower:]' '[:upper:]'`${files:1}; done
Rename the banner.tga back to lower case by hand afterwards.

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
So, I changed the filenames all to lower cases and the paths in the dm-file and replaced \ with /. - I had not expected this to work in windows but it did.
I don't know what you meant by "I can't chance the case in windows" - That worked.
Other 1.01 changes: Minor graphic change for the Shadow-Form Elder Wendigo - It still doesn't look that good.
Shape-shifted Skinshifter is now size 3 - as his picture sugests.

Re: New Nation: Absaroka
I'm used to Windows ignoring changes to only the case of a file name. Seems like it got a little smarter by now. Slashes work just like backslashes in Windows since it's supposed to be POSIX compliant.
