Early war NKVD & Waffen SS scenarios
I have just gotten Avalanche Press Sinister Forces covering NKVD and SS battles and White Eagles covering the Polish 1939 Battles and am looking to convert them to SPWW2.
My problem is there are no units given for the NKVD in SPWW2.
Does anyone know how I could add them to the Soviet OB or is anyone working on such a project?

Are familar with the OOB editor?
It's under Utilites in the WW2 Game Options, MOBHACK OOB Editor.
Trust me you can get lost for hours in there, You were warned!

Did the NKVD troops differ markedly from regular infantry formations? Maybe the easiset way is to purchase some type of regular infantry unit and just rename the squads...

All the tools to create "NKVD" troops in a sceanrio are already in the existing game scenario editor. You can rename units , change the weapons they carry, the number of men in the unit and their morale and experience and a number of other things as well. There is no need for changes to the OOB for that

Shame it is labour intensive and not permanent.
The best thing you can do is set up a back up OOB (copy the original Soviet OOB and put it in the custom OOBs file). Then you can mess around with the OOB as much as you want, in this case not too much as all you need to do is cook up a couple of infantry sections and support formations and so on.
If you want to test your alterations then put the original OOB somewhere safe and replace it with your altered one. Once you get started it isn't really that difficult at all.
All you need is convenient access to research materials and, something I find useful, Mobhack running twice. What that means is you have Mobhack (unaltered) running on one side for quick and easy comparison and your stuff on the other. That way you don't have to scrole up and down while doing your work.
