The more I post The more I like it..
Well, it has been a few days since I experienced the "Shock & Awe" of the forum change, but I'm getting to like it more and more each day. As I make Posts and read through the forums this new edition of the forums is starting to grow on me. In no time I will have erased all the old references from my mind.
A quick note about the reverse forum order, I noticed that when I log out and come back If I go to a new (or modified) thread the system takes me directly to the newest post that I have not read. I really like this, so much so that I'm changing my vote to get the old 'sort order' back.
Richard, I'd hold off getting into the code to change the sort order untill the people can make an objective choice. It took me a good 3 days to analize the forums and notice the 'goodness' of the new system. I like it, and remember I'm resistant to change, so if I can come around in a few days of posting, most of the regular posters will get used to it.
HAve a great day, Cheers!

I might agree if I could get this feature to work. So far it does not for me, so I remain firmly entrenched in the "Yuck!" camp.

I do sort of like the "Remind Me" feature how it emails you when someone Posts to a particular thread. At least in theory, I haven't actually had it work yet, but if it does I'll like it.

The remind me feature seems to work for me. At least I think it is. I hit the button and it shows up in the list on my user page. That is how it is supposed to work, correct?

Re: The more I post The more I like it..
I think I could get used to a lot of this. For some reason it seems less readable, but since I can't put my finger on it, I can't really say anythign about it . . .
Of course, I'd like to see the forum itself, but I'm fairly confident that will get resolved at some point, so no worries there.
I think I figured out why I liked the reverse order from before. It wouldn't be so bad on large threads if you could just hop to the end, not a big deal really. The thing about the current order of threads that I don't care for is that once your post in the Last on a page, it is the Last on a page for good. With the old system the Posts crawled around. I think I liked that.
I do wish I could figure out what it is about the appearance that doesn't sit well. But I think I'm getting used to that.
Anyway, the problems we're having are highly superficial, this has been a transistion with a shocking lack of disaster and loss and the only thing I can think of that's really actually missing are the old rating scores. If that's the worst thing lost we are damn fortunate.
