Default My very own Killer Battleship

I've just finished my design of a Battleship and tested it in the simulator. 4 of them obliteriated 12 Cue Cappans. Since the've got the most ships in my current game I'll mainly use them against the Cue Cappans, but I will test it against other AIs. The only real problem I've detected so far is the lack of supply storage capability, wich gives them a short range from my colonies if I don't give them a support ship. This is only a late game design since It's taken alot of time to just research the things that it needs.

I've just stopped making any more ships with CSM since the Seeking Parasite is alot more effective.

Depending on time and technology, these are setups I've found to work well:

Early game: Seeking parasites on ships set to a workable "max range" strategy (Max range/don't get hurt).

Mid game: Fighters. Stick a couple fighter bays and onto the missile ships for more close in firepower. Especially organic fighters, they are really nasty, and serve to amplify the ships firepower.

Late game or high tech game: On a high tech game, it depends on the technology. Just organic: a mix of attack ships (a couple shield depleaters and env acid globules, max range strategy) and carriers.

With religious, you put talismens on the attack ships and they become deadly at range.

With psychic, a SINGLE crew subverter before the rest of the weapons, to try to capture first before destroying (works best in one-on-one duals, seems less effective with fleets).

With temporal, one of the temporal shield burners before the rest of the weapons.

I'd use organic more often but I really wish they had like tentacles or something, just a 1-range weapon that did wave-motion gun style damage every round. I just can't see my organic ships out-ranging energy weapons. I want to rip them apart and chew them up.

Well it could always be like the killer bug ship from Lexx. That looks like a long range weapon and its certainly an organic ship. The only problem is that ship only has one weapon and a few unarmed fighters. But then you would have to have dead assassins for troops.

Well, the temporal race also has that weapon that skips shields and armour, which makes your big ships just about invincible.
