Default Milkyway Galaxy

I am looking for a representation of our own Milkyway Galaxy to use for SEIV gold. Not just some galaxy with randomly placed stars that exist in our galaxy, but one that has close approximations of distances and actual locations of stars including such greats as: Sol, Betelguex, Deneb, Alpha Centuri, Vega, Rigel, and the list goes on and on. This would be even better if it were on the huge scale. For the realist in us all, wouldn't this be great, conquoring our own galaxy.

Yes, but tnarg, keep in mind that our limited knowledge of the Delta Quadrant would make it appear like terra incognita on a medieval map

Do you realize how many star systems are in our galaxy? It's too many for the game to handle. But maybe if we stick to well known stars like the ones you named, it could work. I'm kind of surprised no one has done this already.

if you use my SystemNames file, you will get stars names of real stars in our galaxy including sol. If you wnat to create a map use the map editor and you can pick from the name list as you create the systems.

Would be kewl to create a galaxy map of, perhaps, our local region of space using the aforementioned (as well other) star systems in it.

Maybe I can find some astrological resources on the internet..

tnarg, check out some astronomy magazines and books, I used to have one that had pages in it for the complete sky both northern and southern hemispheres and a list telling how far the stars were away from us and much more. Check you local library.
