Default Demon (Undead?) Leadership

So, I was playing Mictlan and I had a few Soul Contracts floating about - giving me a nice Devil "income". After summoning horde from hell and dressing up the leader Devil, I was running around having fun with this 26 Devil army ... but there were more back at home. So, I forged a Rod of the Leper King to give me more undead leadership ... and my Devil became diseased!!!

Basically, my question is: Are devils undead or not???

Currently it seems that they are both - should there be a demon leadership Category?

I think Devils are in a different Category than undeads. Most spells that target undead (Dust to Dust, for example) won't affect a demon, and like you said, disease still affects them. Demon leadership would be kind of nifty. Would put a bit of a limiter on Soul Contracts. Could be based off the Blood path, giving +10-20 Demon leadership per rank. Nifty indeed.

Does the disease affect your demon? Even undead get the Diseased-affliction, but it has no effect whatsoever on them. After you have checked that, could please tell us how it works.

If I remember correctly, he was diseased and also had a battle affliction (which was the annoying/surprising part).

I'll recheck when I get home.

Devils aren't undead (you can tell because they don't have the "Undead" icon on their stat screen) but they do use Undead Leadership and not normal or magical leadership.

I think that clears everything up.

OK - playing a few turns revealed that the Devil is not really diseased, only the icon shows up.

Apparently, then, demons use undead leadership and can use equipment for the undead (without penalty) ... even though they aren't actually listed as undead.
