Shipset Idea
Several people have thought the idea of a ship set based on Space Above & Beyond would be cool if it had enough ships.
My solution based on a rpg game I'm running is to mix similar looking ship styles from three different sources.
They are SAAB, Aliens, and Starship Troopers (Both movie and cgi series).
The Saratoga, Nostromo, Sulaco, Rodger Young, Hammerheads, Cheyenne Dropships, ISSCVs, Various groundtroops, and many others.
Lots of Online sources.
Would anybody be interested in doing a shipset? I for one would love to see it. (I'm graphically impaired )

Re: Shipset Idea
Actually that's a pretty good solution. I'm not much of an artist, but I can do a fair bit of editing given a picture to work with. Unfortunately I probably wouldn't be able to start for at least a month or so and possibly not until this summer.

Re: Shipset Idea
I had an idea for a ship set based upon our current navy ships. However, I couldn't find any TOP down or 3d images of current naval ships and fighters. Kinda disappointed me. (any one remember Star Blazers?)

Re: Shipset Idea
There are three sets from Star Blazers in the mod section, they are quite good. The Gamilons have givin me a run for my money a few times If you can't find them I could upload them for you, or 'Lion of High Park' (or something like that) probally could, as he is the author (his space 1999 shipset ROCKS!).

Re: Shipset Idea
Oh yeah, and for naval ships try: battleship.org./html/Photos/Gallery.htm
or warships1.com/US_cruisers.htm
the images may not be 3d modelled but I'm sure they could be used for something, like most of the trek ships are taken from movie pics etc.
hope this helps....

Re: Shipset Idea
Thanks muchly, Deathstalker. Right now my Moon Base Alpha forces are in a full out war with the White Comet Empire. Fleets of missile armed Eagles battling it out with Cometine ships. Nifty.
Atrocities, the three Star Blazers shipsets should still be under the mods directory, but may be back a page or so after the more recent postings. (And yes, the Earth Defense Force ships look just like flying naval warships.)
Cheers
