enslave mind victim vanishing after battle ?
Just a quick question here:
In my current AAR I was attacked by Ulm in one of my newly conquered provinces and managed to enslave an Elephant on the second turn.
It survived the battle without any serious afflictions and my commander had enough leadership left to be able to take him into his army.
I haven't really watched out for this before, but don't all units you enslave during a battle who survive become your own units if there is enough leadership left to command them ?

Leadership has nothing to do with it. I've noticed enslaved units often start routing as soon as they change sides. Maybe you'll find your elephant in a neighboring province, if there is one. Or maybe it just died fighting for your cause.

Nope, he fought for my side till all enemy troops were either killed or routed. IIRC he even killed the Last paralysed enemy (no hero, so I doubt there could have been a magic gadget which killed him).
edit: Forget to mention that I looked in all bordering provinces and wasn't able to see him there, too.
Strange...

He likely was a merc elephant, as Ulm cannot recruit elephants as national units.
I do not think you can keep enslaved mercs, same as you cannot keep enslaved horrors, lamashtas or local defense troopers...they just vanish after the battle.

Hmmm yes. Although in Doms 1 you could rebirth heroic merc captains as mummies, and although they still behaved as mercs in a way (won't give equipped items away), that made them controlable by other factions. Same with wished Horrors or Ashen Angels. It probably works just the same in Doms 2.
