State of my mod..
Well, so far I've just changed ship sizes and costs, and just been running it in Devnullmod, and so far, I've been satisfied with the results. Without AI tweaking and with EPM thrown in, the AI ships tend to be terribly slow. The best example would be my 1400 kt Battlecruiser with an 8 combat movement taking on four 600 kt Light Cruisers with a combat movement of 2. It actually took a few turns worth of combat to resolve that battle. Even with their slow speed, the Light Cruisers were carrying eight High Yield Capship missile Vs, and my Battlecruiser only had six PD Cannon IIs, five actually, as it had taken quite a bit of damage from another light cruiser with around eight pulse mounted Meson Cannon VIs.
I did eventually lose the battlecruiser, as I got a bit too close to a planet with a whole bunch of Meson Cannons. It was the most fun I've had playing SEIV in awhile, so I'm guessing that is a good thing.
Next thing to take care of are the new and modified componates and weapons. This includes tweaking the missiles speed and range a bit, a complete overhaul of the beam weapons, and a bunch of sensor, scanner, and ECM tweaks.
I'm a bit straped for time, so no lists of stuff now, but I will post them soon.
