Ever looked into a modern video projector like the one they have there?
Owch.
Its about the only arrangement where you can get the beam to not be blocked by passerby, and not shine it in little kids' eyes, though.
Perhaps with some fancy anti-keystoning manoeuvers with lenses and mirrors, you could shine it up out of the floor close to the fog screen and still get a square picture.

If you had a front & ceiling projection arrangement, and could prevent people from walking in the way (a classroom, say), then it would prevent absent minded profs from ruining the screens with whiteboard markers, and they'd never get tears.
Could be useful, but probably not quite worth it. Regular screens are many hundred bucks, but overall, they don't get wrecked TOO often.
