Default Dominions 3 on EEE PC

Hello guys,

I just bought myself a brand new Asus EEE PC, and I was wondering if it would be possible to install and run dominions 3 on that little toy *grins*. I think it might be doable considering that I was told that it runs some kind of Xandros Debian Linux thingies but I couldn't swear ...

Would someone be able to give me a hand with that, or have any clues or walkthrough or even better, has someone ever done it ?

Thanks for the help !

Regards,

Noroi

PS : (I must say that I am an absolute and COMPLETE linux newbye).

I'm getting an EEE soon. I think it will arrive in a couple of weeks, there've been stock shortages.

Yep, definitely it could be installed and would run. Simply put the CD in a normal computer, and copy it wholesale onto a USB key, then install from that. However, I very much doubt that it will run playably. Dominions has surprisingly high system requirements.

I didn't know that pure-energy beings built computers for us Terrans.

Hello,
I've tried to do a manual install, and I've followed the instructions for the said manual install that were printed on the readme.txt in the original CD, however the EEE PC xandros linux doesn't want to run the .RUN file it seems that it is not recognized as an executable file. Would someone have any ideas ? Can I use some kind of console command to start it ?
Sorry for the linux n00b question *blush*

chmod +x <file name>

That will make it executable.

Well done !

It works, well, kinda, I have still problems when it comes to run it from an SD card (something to do with permissions I guess), but I can play it from the SSD drive.

It seems to run pretty smoothly quite surprisingly. Well, I'll keep you in touch when I'll have updates

Thanks for the hand, mates ...
