Default Purchase of Aircraft for Core?

This may have been answered a long time ago. Hopefully, there is a really quick answer. I know this is NOT currently done but could it be done without a huge amount of work?
It would be great to be able to purchase aircraft as part of a core force so they gain XP. (I still haven't been able to get aircraft to stay in a battle long enough to be really useful so their combined arms support seems to be minimal at best. It could be just me.) In PG2 (SSI & AK4000) my FW-200C-1s have no trouble gaining XP and become a very powerful part of my combined arms force.

Default Re: Purchase of Aircraft for Core?

Whilst I think it is possible, the Designers made a decision at the outset of this Game that a/c were merely an adjunct to game-play, and would not be allowed to form part of your Core Force. It makes the game more realistic: certainly in WW2, "air" was a very hit & miss affair, with doubtful availability. How many operations were planned with air support, but for various reasons it never arrived?

Fog at home base; pilots got lost; etc.

Having said that: in SPMBT (after much pleading) it is now permissible to have helicopters in your Core.
