Healing Afflictions
Still new to the game... is there any way to heal afflictions, or are they totally permanent? If I remember the manual correctly, I think there are some units that can heal themselves, but what about units that don't have this ability?

Re: Healing Afflictions
You can use a unique artifact called the chalice to heal units in the province with the artifact holder. The spell "Gift of Health" and certain units are also able to heal afflictions. One of the more common units is Arcoscephale's Priestess.

Re: Healing Afflictions
Sweet. Thanks!
As an aside, the afflictions system is awesome. The coolest part of the game so far was seeing a guy get a limp, then during the next battle he lags behind the rest of his squad. I'm used to role-playing games where it's just there till the end of the battle or at the worst you use a healing potion.

Re: Healing Afflictions
Dominions is a lot of fun! It takes a little while to get the hang of things, but there is so much to this game, it will keep you busy for a while .

Re: Healing Afflictions
If you manage to keep them alive long enough, you can get some pretty impressively crippled units.
The most common (only?) Healer available to everyone is the Fairy Queen.
Some sites allow you to recruit mages who can heal.
Healers can't heal old people or undead. Only the Chalice or GoH can do that.

For a fairly in-depth look at how afflictions can be healed from what units, check the FAQ.
