What\'s the latest on PBEM or Network?
I haven't seen any recent discussions on advancements in PBEM or any TCP/IP-networkgameplay. I currently don't participate in any Human vs. Human games 'cause of the time involved. It takes a LONG time to PBEM (as well as patches being released before you could even hope to complete). And IIRC TCP/IP play is not even a 'glimmer in someones eye'.
I have been playing a few mods and applying patches, yet the AI does not even come close to a human challenge. I'm not saying the AI sucks (everyone has there opionions posted in other threads and this was not intended to be another "bash the AI" thread), I'm just requesting an update on any news about making Human vs. Human games a little more feaseable.
To Shrapnel Games: Have you in the past / are you considering hosting multi-player games thru / via your 'Net presence? Is this even an item being considered?
EDIT: I should not have stated that the AI was not even close to a human. What I should have said was that the AI does not think like a human and is governed by a set of rules. However, a human is far less predictable, hence will be more of / a different challenge.
