Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
A couple questions that I couldn't seem to find the answers to
To script Enslave Mind on a Mind Lord do you use the "fire" options?
The spell decription says "damage: Death" but I'm guessing it actually does enslave.

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
Yes, fire will attack with the enslave mind. Be careful though as you've only got 5 ammo at which point they'll close in for melee. You can use either "stay behind troops" or "fire X5, cast spells" for your scripting which is a bit safer.

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
Or cast 5 buffs(or less), fire closest, which will send them into melee.
Mind Lords make good thugs once buffed and with the little gear they can carry.
Isn't Enslave Mind fairly short range anyway?

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
TJ and B,
Thanks for the replies. Shows as range 25. Will it enslave (and keep) PD units?

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
It does, if I remember correctly. Too bad it's only got ammo 5. They still do Mind Blast, no? I'd script them to Enslave 5x and then fire closest. No way these guys need to engage the enemy.

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
I play MA R'lyeh a lot, and I can confirm that Enslave Mind (the spell, pretty sure the 'weapon' is copied from the spell) does not allow you to keep PD after a battle.
It can be a bit annoying, but it's not the worst thing in the world. It's still a brilliant spell in many circumstances.
I always just told them to Fire Rear. I suppose in really large battles, you want to get more creative than that, but I'm not as experienced in using EA, so I never had to script Mind Lords for the really big crazy fights. I would say though that in general, Enslave Mind is proportionately more useful early in the battle - you will often Enslave their casters and elite units first, and that can have a huge impact on the way the battle plays out.

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
If you DO enslave his commanders, in theory they should rout. (for the record, enslaved commanders become soldiers. I do not know if GORing them wowuld restore casters to their paths...)
And if you keep enough chaff, in theory they should not be killed in the frontlines...
In general, I prefer to cast 5 specific spells and then set them to fire rear. Hopefully those five spells will make a difference.
Maybe it´s better to make them just stay behind troops and hope they´ll decide to cast an enslave mind from time to time, through...

Yes, they will rout if you Enslave all the commanders. I was more thinking of it in terms of the really large battles - if he has 20 commanders and dozens of high HP elites, then you won't get all of them. But the casters that you do Enslave may have been scripted to cast very important buff spells. Or they may be communion slaves, dropping his communion a level, making him unable to cast the intended spells, and making remaining slaves take TONS more fatigue than expected, hopefully killing them. The carnage wrought by Enslaving casters is priceless. Same with Enslaving Elephants or other large elites. Remember, that Elephant will now be 50 Morale Mindless.

Fire large monster is great. You can get sea trolls, sea serpants, krakens and like. If a Fomoria player entered water with fomoria giants, his giants just became yours.

Re: Enslave Mind and Mind Lords
Enslaved elephants keep their morale, so I do not see how they suddenly become mindless.
