Can I sub for a teammate in the same game?
I have a teammate in Global War that will be away for maybe a week and we are wondering about several ways we can find a solution for this:
1. Is it possible for me to submit his turns so that we don't have to recruit a new person who will be unfamiliar with the situation?
2. I've heard that there may be some CD key issues when trying to submit two turns from the same computer, so would I need two different CD keys to do this? I suppose I could borrow his CD key when submitting his turn, then switch back to my CD key to play my turn, but I would really prefer not to do that for obvious reasons.
3. Also, does playing via PBEM vs TCP make a difference with respect to this?

I may be wrong but I believe it is one player per game per CD. So basically, no you can't.

Does it make a difference if I am subbing for the host? After all it is possible to play hotseat with the same key. But maybe there's a issue with TCP and PBEM.

I think that via PBEM, you can play as many nations as you want in a single game with one key.
I think you may also be able to do TCP games that way, as long as you are not logged into the server twice at the same time using the same key. I'm not so clear about that though.

I think that llamabeast said it is impossible to get more than 1 turn working from the same cdkey. I guess it is the same for network games.

Too bad they didn't implement it like the protection in the ancient game Stars!--the system sent a machine signature along with the key in a turn file. The hosting program didn't care how many turns were submitted with the same key so long as the signatures were the same. Matching keys & non-matching signatures would trigger the protection, though.
