OT: IP address
How would I find out what IP address another computer would need to connect to mine? I have a D-Link router.

Re: OT: IP address
Internal LAN IP, or external WAN IP?
LAN IP:
Go to Run in the start menu. Type "cmd" and hit enter. In the command prompt, type "ipconfig" and hit enter.
WAN IP:
Go to http://www.whatismyip.com/

Re: OT: IP address
There are many ways to do so, depending on whether you want to know your IP yourself or not. So I will stick with the lazy solution: connect to a site like www.whatismyip.com, and cut and paste your IP.

Re: OT: IP address
Side note: When I'm done, anyone want to try a test chat program?
How safe is the IP address to give out?
What's the best way to make an internet program, given the above?
Note: Almost done, but my brother needs the computer. Horrible amounts of homework after supper. It's getting ridiculous.
We need another computer. Well, not really need, but we have one good one, one mac laptop and one old one. So it's kinda hard for anyone to get stuff done.

Re: OT: IP address
You could use a service such as http://www.no-ip.com/ to get a URL in place of posting your IP address.

Re: OT: IP address
Speaking of IP addresses, does anyone know of any websites that let you type in an ip address and tells you the geographical position of that address?
