Default I Wonder

I wonder if there is money in making pLastic or diecast models of some of the independant ship sets we have seen for SEIV?

I mean think of all the ships, bases, fighters, weapons platforms, troops, and such that have been made for this game? There literally must be a couple thousand easy. Now translate that into a toys and your sitting on a mega empire of merchaniseable must haves for the kiddies of the world.

I mean who wouldn't want a Pandoran Battleship play set with little Pandoran stormtroopers to play with and do battle with?

Seriously, a lot of work has gone into the now 200 plus ship sets that we have, and all for what, just one game? Oh come on we must have other uses that we can exploit? Surely wecould expand our options and explore other markets.

I know, I know, big business would simply exterminate us and our ideas long before they hit the market. Our toys are to violent, they are dangerous. Or worse, some nut would claim he made the designs and want royalties. (deep breath) Oh well it was a cool thought for the moment.

Great idea AT, merchandizing can be very lucrative. I hope to do some merchandizing for SE5. Personally I'd love to make a Calandar showcasing some art of mine for every month. Could even make a calandar for every race, etc, etc.

(yes Gandalf, I am aware of cafepress. It is a viable option.)

AT, you have the rights to do anything you want with your models. Go for it.

Cheers!

Interesting idea. My other hobby is sculpting models (and a friend said I should get a job sculpting toys). I'd be interested in trying it.

Well make the models out of something like clay then from there an injection mold. (That is spendy.)

I can see it now, Pandoran action figures like back when I was a kid playing with my old Star Wars figures. Man why does childhood have to be so short compared to the rest of our lives?

I often find myself kicking myself whenever I try to get my nephews to do grown up things like watch the history channel. OMG why fill their minds with adult worries, let them be children because it really is Gods gift to them to be so inocent and filled with imagination and wonder.

I worry about them so.

But hey if they would want these models as toys, then I know most seven to ten year olds will

Go for it.

When I worked for ISPs I tried to stay abreast of "plugin" sites. You would amazed at how easy it is to offer things thru companies that have the ability to create, but not the interest in subjects. You choose the subject, get a domain, collect all the various plugin type products or affiliates, and become the one-stop shop for it. If you are a logical site for people to come to on a subject then you should help them (and yourself) by connecting them to other items they might want.

It totally doesnt work to try and just offer items because you can offer items. Ive seen many try to create a site just cramming it with plugins and affiliates. But Ive become totally convinced that ANY site which has a decent theme can triple the impression people get from it by offering logical connected products. It brings you more traffic, which gains your affiliates more traffic, which drops some money on you. Usually not enough to quit your day job. But often its enough to pay for a decent site so that its not a drain and often even get occasional pocket-money checks out of it.

So why arent these AARs coming out in book form? Where is my Tshirt? Do I have to make my own screensaver?
