Hot-Seat - who has played/Experiences

I know most play SP and PBW, but I was just curious as to how many of us play or have played hotseat games of SE4 both modded & Original.

If you have, maybe you could share your experiences/fun/frustrations/good/bad about it. Myself, usually play SP but play hotseat every Sunday night with 3 friends, lots of fun and verrrry interesting. Maybe even give us some strategy tips both tactical and stratigic that you used/found/good/bad or had used against you

I have been playing SE IV with friends for over a year now. It is great fun and each session is always filled with a "why hasn't ip/tcp been implemented" so that we could do this all the time. Once you have become accustomed to hotseat play, play by the web is such a sorry alternative -- takes too long to develop.

My strategy tip is "not to lose." We have seen all sorts of strategies come and go. But, just like in real estate, your starting location is always key. We have recently started increasing the number of planets at start and the tech level at start.

SE IV is a great game -- it would become truly steller if tcp/ip were ever a part of what the game could do.

I used to play hotseat games all the time with a good friend of mine. I never won (we never really finished) but it was always due to a poor starting location. I almost always started either right next to the computer player or bottled in by a neutral. The one time it looked like I had a chance to win he ordered the computer to surrender and it did... He got allot of tech and beat me into the ground. Oh well, I will still miss it now that he is in the navy...

Just about Every game I did during beta was hotseat. I prefer hot seat because it develops faster than PBW and I am a control freak when it comes to battles. Strategic combat just doesnt satisfy my meglomania.

I still do hotseat games with about 4-5 players on saturday nites
