ATF Newbie Question
Not sure this is a bug, but while playing ATF patched to version 1.07 on the tutorial scenario, when the activate path menu button is on and I double-click on units (platoons or vehicles in the main armor companies) - that is alternate double-clicking on them but do not alter the nodes - the unit paths move to north east. They should not move - I am just activating units and cycling through them to check their paths.
I do not seem able to control the paths - they keep on jumping around to the north east and constantly are going into impassible terrain (and this is prior engaging the enemy).
Not sure what is going on - am I missing something?

Re: ATF Newbie Question
I think you are describing something like "path creep". It is a known issue where, when selecting a hierarchy with a path AND a formation, the path sometimes "jumps" several hundred meters when a path is selected.
If you just want to look at planned paths, not change them, you might try the "Show all paths" option from the view menu. This will display the paths without moving them.
Sorry for the confusion. We are working on the problem.

Re: ATF Newbie Question
So if I select no formation (i.e. 'none') the paths will not jump around? Individual vehicle paths will not jump around if their parent hierarchy's (both levels) have no formation?
This seems to happen consistently in my saved game - is this scenario unique or common?
The show all paths option seems the best
Thanks for the quick response and the help

Re: ATF Newbie Question
I may have misunderstood your question. If you are seeing individual vehicle's paths jump around, it is because they are in bypass obstacle and trying to find a way around a man-made (mine/wire) obstacle or natural obstacle they have run into. If you are seeing a platoon or company path jump around, it is the issue I described earlier.

Re: ATF Newbie Question
Thanks - works - although I am still getting hammered - will crack this nut ....
I am finding it hard to sequence breaking through the obstacles and maintaining good smoke to limit exposure - timing / syncronizing the attack is difficult - as I expect the real thing is.

Re: ATF Newbie Question
Professional soldiers struggle with it their whole lives and sometimes STILL don't get it right.
I have identified and fixed the "path jumping" problem you described. Keep an eye out at the Shrapnel web page for a patch soon!
