Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
I'll have to check this out when I get a chance. Sounds good to me, and new icons as well.
I had just started to update this OOB as part of my Vietnam Pack, but I've been really busy in the last 6 months or so and my hobbies have suffered.

Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
Looks good to me, but I am curious about your sources. I'm particularly interested in the assignment of LMGs at squad level at least in the Marines, which was something I had not seen in any of my very few sources when I began updating the OOB myself.
The new vehicles look interesting for sure and no doubt are accurate projections. I unfortunately didn't get a chance to look at the new icons, but I'm sure they're well done.

Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
Thanks for your comment,thatguy96.
Well, South Korean Army and MC squad have 10 men. they have 1 LMG (K-3 or M-60 in Reserve Div), 1 or 2 5.56mm K-2 Rifle w/40mm GL(aka K-201) and rest of men have 5.56mm K-2 Rifle or M-16(Reserve Div). Army and MC squad use LMGs in Squad Level. and Platoon HQ has Two LMGs. I have some sources that are Korea army Field Manuals.
By the way, I've found error at Marine squad (88-99). They use two LMGs. I'll fix it.

Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
I'm guessing these manuals are in the original Korea? Unfortunate for me
The only sources I have are before the shift to the M16, which suggest the usage of the BAR at squad level, which is where I assumed that it would be like the US progression of using automatic rifles instead of LMGs at squad level.

Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
Yes, It's the original Korean FM. Sorry.
I checked squad firearm list which is before the shift to the M16, lmg only used in Platoon HQ and Weapons platoon. so these Rifle squads must have B.A.R for LMGs. I'll fix these problems.
Thanks for your comment.

Re: Obat 20 : South Korea OOB
Do you have a hard copy of the Korean FM or is it in an electronic format (.pdf or something similar)? If its in an electronic format, would it be possible for you to send it to me or otherwise make it available regardless? I realize I'm now very curious even if I probably wouldn't be able to understand 99% of it.

I'am so sorry. I can't send these FMs because Army regulation and security. FM only see through army intranet.
If I get some articles that are civilian level, I'll send you any format (.PDF or .JPG).

The branches of the US military have historical copies of FMs and the like that are obsolete and therefore no longer sensitive. Some branches even have collections online. Does the ROK do this as well?
