Replacement Needed: Proportions Game No. 3
I play the Terrans in this Proportions game. Since I'm leaving on holiday on the 20th January, I have to drop this game, so I'm sure all the other players will appreciate it very much if someone joins up.
I took over this game from someone else myself, and the position isn't that good. You're basically out of expansion space, but at least the neighbors are friendly, so far anyway. Turn number is currently 2409.6.

Re: Replacement Needed: Proportions Game No. 3
If I may say, if you like the latest Proportions mod, this game is a total bLast. Although the turn duration is set to 48 hours ALPU, there are only 5 of us and we burn through turns sometimes two a day, almost always one a day. The game has only been going a few months and we're already on turn 96.
It's also a great game if you like RP oriented ones. I frankly find it to be a total bLast, but, I admit I am a diehard fanatic of the proportions mod.
Oh, I am not sure that I agree that there is little expansion room - as far as I can tell the map is...odd, and all of us started on one end of the quadrant. And the other end of the quadrant is, as far as I know so far, accessible only be a few oddly place warp points - so it's quite an interesting exploration aspect that is going on as well.
Oh, and, we all still only have our own colonization techs, so there is still expansion room in the other planet types...
In any case, it's a great game and I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say that we'd love to have a dedicated player for the terrans. Please? You won't be dissappointed...
thanks,
Alarik

Aaargh --- must resist :/ too late...
What mod Version is it? I have to say I'm not very experienced in playing Proportions, but I do like what I've seen so far.
Thanks.
Edit:
I do have my exams coming up soon, so 2 turns/day might be stretching it, but 1 turn/day is definetly something I can manage.

Re: Replacement Needed: Proportions Game No. 3
It's the latest Version, like 3.02 or something around there.
I wouldn't worry about 2 turns/day, really, it's more like 1 /day and, if people get their turns in earlier we do it earlier. It's set on ALPU so it's not like you would *have* to get the turns in, it's more like we're a bunch of energized players who *happen* to get our turns in once a day on average.
Also, if you're gonna join, since its a proportions game be aware that it requires a relatively long term committment. WE're on turn 96, and that's really the early stages of the game... proportions games go for a long time beyond that...just wanted to make that clear...
Given all that....join!
Thanks,
Alarik

I know proportions mod changes the proportions I'll check on PBW tomorrow to see what I must get and maybe play a bit to get back into it.

Well, let me know when you're ready, so I'll drop the game. Thanks for taking up the game!

Re: Replacement Needed: Proportions Game No. 3
Thanks for joining, boran_blok!
I just accepted you to join.
For you and as a reminder to everyone else, this map was custom-engineered by me to give everyone a pretty equal starting position, with equal access to colonizable planets at about the same distances and with about the same potential. Players wanted to start out jammed close together so there would be interaction right away. I did this by starting with a random system and then manipulating it. I also added a bunch of unusual interesting stuff. Most of the systems are actually inaccessible without warp manipulation, which takes quite a while to develop in Proportions 3.x, so trying to break into inaccessible systems may not be at all practical. And ya, there are some other goofy paths to make some potential for exploration far away from the action, though again it might not be practical to focus too much there.
