Re: Icon Scale concerns.
You may be right but it doesn't affect the lines of sight in the game. I doubt it was a conscious change in scale.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
Unit icons don't affect lines of sight in game at all, unless its a flamer. I wasn't exactly going in that direction with this. You could make a 89 pixel long and wide M5 Stuart and it wouldn't block units vision until it became a flamer.
I was trying to figure out why the icons aren't in scale of 1 pixel = 6". The icons in the are supposed to all be in scale with each other. Has been that way for years. So I was asking Don if a change has been made or not. If there was a change I was wanting to know what it was so my icons would be in scale with the others. But if there wasn't a scale change, its pointing out a error. Just trying to get on the same page, that's all.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
I wouldn't worry about it too much. A couple of years back I was doing some Icons of heavy weapons for infantry units in MBT and the (IIRC) grunts are closer to 1pix=3".
So you've been fielding an army of fatties for all these years, and not noticed
EDIT: for multiple thumbs on spelling.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
Thanks for pointing out the Mk IV's were a bit large. I knew that. Same for the SdKfz 251/1, also a bit too large. The 251's are too large because the 250's are too large and at the time I had no time and NO desire to go back and repair umpteen SdKfz 250 Icons so the 251's wouldn't look totally out of place. It was a design decision and after studying the effect in the game I decided to leave well enough alone. They've been like that for years now. I dispute the accuracy of the "aren't even close" comment though. Most of what "aren't even close" is fender.
I looked at the attachment. IDK where you get your dimensions from but I would say the length of you Icon is 2 pixels too short but there are a wide range of "hull lengths" in various "good" sources for Pz IV's. I've seen as short as 17 feet 9 inches up to 19 feet 5 inches though the 5.88m - 5.92m dimension pops up the most which would make the vehicle at this scale 39 pixels long ( rounded up ) Your example is 37 and mine, without the rear shadow line is 41 but then, you could be using a different source for your dimensions.
I usually include a shadow line along the rear of the tank as well as the lower side but that's just what I do. You can do whatever you like.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
I use "The Greenhill, Armoured Fighting Vehicles Data Book, by Ian Hogg" Which states.
Panzerkampfwagen 4
Krupp-Gruson
Ausf A
Hull length: 18' 4" (5.60m)
Width: 9' 6" (2.90m)
page 87
Not stirring things up, just stating my source.
I hadn't realized that there were different stats out there with such a wide range.
As far as the 250s go. I know those are WAY outta scale, because as you probably already know they are my old stuff. I made those before I was informed of the 1 pixel = 6" scale years ago.
Either way, thanks for the response. If you want to use my new stuff Don let me know and we'll talk about it. If you have read my Pz Ia post you see that 250s are on there.

Re: Icon Scale concerns.
From PZ-IV G model onwards the hull was lenghtened. I do not know to what lenght but 5.92 meters may be the longer hull?
At achtungpanzer
http://www.achtungpanzer.com/pz3.htm
It states: "Ausf F1 was the last of Panzerkampfwagen IVs based on the short version chassis".
My oppinion for icon sizes in general is that it is nice to be able to see the icons well. Sometimes it is good to have some compromises made. Examples of maybe too small icons is the Italian "CV" tankettes and Soviet BA-64 armored cars. They are so small that it is wery hard to see sometimes.
