Default Repair Bay Questions

Another Q I should know but don't - perhaps I should lump them all into one thread? If I come up w/any more I think I will...

1) so, do Repair Bays work during a battle?

that is, will they repair components that have been destroyed during a tactical and/or strategic battle turn?

2) If the RB is on a ship, will it repair only the destroyed components on it's ship? (sounds right?)

3) Will a RB on one ship be able to repair a component on another ship involved in the same battle?(doubtful)

thanks in advance

They don't work during battle.
They repair components in the order in which you set repair priorities, IIRC.

If you have a single ship with a RB on it, it will repair all ships in the stack/fleet, but as mentioned not during battle.

At the end of each turn, all the repair capacity in a sector is used to repair components in that sector that are damaged. These are not ship specific. They can come from planet sy's, ship sy's and repair bays. If you can repair 15 components and there are less than 15 damaged components total on all ships in that sector, they will all be fixed. See the FAQ on how damage is repaired using the "repair priorities" for situations where you have to wait more than 1 turn for the repairs to complete.

Obviously the Repair characteristic effects this at start up.

Although Organic Armour does repair in combat. I'm having evil thoughts now...

Is it possible to have a repair function system wide?
