Default Interesting Features I would like

I was thinking Last night, and it occured to me that it would be of interest to add more Random events to the game. Not just bad ones, lord knows there are tons of those, but good ones.

Such as ship X found a derelect ship. You gain advanced technology.

Or the ship could be of a special class, and comes with a lot of fire power, but needs a ton of repair work. Kinda like that show Robotech in a way. Its a relic, but still one that is powerful enough to help you.

Other good events could be that a freak phanominon transfored X planet into a paradise.

You see where I am going with this right? Well any ways, I thought it would be a great addition to the game, and was hoping that you all would add your ideas. That if MM read this thread, or it gets emailed to them, they can get a ton of great ideas for POSTIVE as well as NEGATIVE Random events.

yeah, I usually turn down random events 'cause they are ALWAYS negative. If an occaisional positive one came along, it would be worth turing it up a step or two.

Atrocities-

I think the "Baron" had also mentioned in a previous thread that he was working on some "positive" random events. If you have the inclination, perhaps you and the Baron should compare notes and create a small mod to this file that "adds" some positive events. You can then post it for the rest of us and, provided it only added events and was "AI neutral", perhaps Aaron might include it in the next patch

One imporvement I would like to see is in the PBEM system. I don't understand why they can't handle PBEM like Age of Wonders does. It AUTOMATICALLY sends and receives the game turns (and prunes old game files). It's makes PBEM so nice.

In SEIV, I have to open my mail client, save the file in a certain directory, play the turn, save the file, open that directory, open a new mail message, attach the file, choose the recipient and send it.

In AOW it's just "End Turn" and everything else is automatic. It was the best PEBM system I've ever used.

I wish the simultaneous turn option didn't force the program to actually close at the end of a turn, it should just go to the main menu. Playing on a Lan is a pain.

BTW, is there ANY way to not have automatic battles when playing by email?

Harkonis,

No PBEM is always automatic. Or else you would have to send a file for each turn of combat to each player. Can you say slow game down alot?
