So I just finished the game...

I was a huge SE4 fan, and it was very cool to get to see the SE4 universe from the first person perspective.
However... there is so much missing. Like the guy who started the "piece of crap" thread, I at first was really disappointed with the graphics and that it is 2D. I'm pretty spoiled, as I play Eve Online and it is truly amazing in that dept.
However, once I got into the game, it was fun; I like the mission system, the docking interface at the various planets and bases and the combat system. I also like being able to wander off and do my own missions along the way and not be restricted to a hard linear story-line.

I was very disapointed that the ship sizes stopped at Battleship; I was REALLY hoping that a dreadnought would show up at a ship dealer somewhere along the way.
I was REALLY hoping for more races. Even double what we have would have been nice. 7 just seems too limited.
I wanted to see ALL the standard technology from SE4. Cloaking. Solar Sails. It killed me that the battleship was held back at 600 speed.

I know it's all moddable... but for an out of the box game... I'm left with a "now what?" feeling. I could keep playing and doing missions, but there's not much point. I have 6 million credits and tech 20 items across the board on my battleship.

Soo... it was fun for what it was. If I had not played SE4 so avidly, it would have been lackluster though.
I guess I'll have to see how difficult modding is. From what I've read so far it looks far more complicated than SE4 was...

oh... I wanted to add one more thing.

I was pleased that I had exactly ZERO technical issues. I installed the game and the 1.08 patch and played straight through with no bugs. This is always a good thing.

Well, after a half year or so there's plenty of new ships, new systems, new races, new utilities and stuff available as mods to the game.

Right now I'm waiting for B5 mod and I fear that I must wait it forever. I wonder if it's possible to add a B5 like hyperspace system to the game.

You mean like making a System that is connected to every other system, and is filled with red storms?

I made an FTL map for SE4 like that already, and given an existing map in SF, it will be pretty straightforward to create one more system with such a simple layout and link it to the rest.

Yeah and when you have big enough ship you could do your own jump points. Also the terran destroyer, for example Agamemnon (B5). Is it possible to do the turning ship part to the model?

I don't know if anyone knows this but there is a Terran dreadnought.It's 1500kt and I know that I bought it.I thought there was no dreadnought.Can't remember where I got it but I think in a terran system.If you have 3 million credits then enjoy
