Default Mobility radeon driver fix - going from 6 to 152 fps...

for those who got a mobiity radeon 9000 card, and have their lazy laptop manufacturer which dont update their driver.

for those who wants a generic driver for most graphic card manufacturer, for bios update, and various other system/peripheric.

One and only one address :

http://www.omegacorner.com

I didnt believe it until it worked, and like a charm. I have now a fully fonctional opengl video card

I tried the driver but it would not let me get into the Dom2 demo. It tries to change resolution and then just kicks out. Amy idea as to how I could get it to work?

not really, but I find that some time the game crash when I launch windowed, have you tried to launch it fullscreen?

is the driver really installed (with the omega sign in the tray), have you launched other games since his install to test it? Before installing it, be sure you desinstall your previous ATI one, and reboot. Then after booting, your system should tell you there is a VGA adapter only. After that, you install the omega driver.

see also the command lines options, like forcing a resolution setting, or adding -xxx for low quality/best performance

otherwise, toshiba, hewlet and compaq have drivers for the mobility, you can try these ones. I'm stil surprised that omega driver didnt work, it was painless for me. The guy behind the website seems to knows a bunch, perhaps even more than some of ATI crews

You could try to change the number of color on your desktop to 16, 24 or 32 bit.

this is a common problem in game troubleshooting forums.

What you need to do is install the ati 9000 drivers. Your manufacturer will never update the drivers that came with your laptop. It is the same with the nvidia 2 go I have in mine.

So you manually install the 9000 drivers in control panel. Either through system drivers display, or display advanced adapter drivers. Uninstall and install from this location and click show all etc.

you will lose the power management features. Which are largely useless. When you are gaming you are plugged in most likely.

Ok, indeed these Omega-Drivers boosted the Performance incredibly for my Radeon Mobility 7500 under Windows, and the Battle Graphics run smooth even with the high-quality settings, but I'd rather play the game under Linux, which is the OS that I am mainly using on my laptop.

How do I improve the performance under Linux? The Battle-Graphics are so slow that they are simply not viewable...
