Two questions
1) I just noticed that my 100% poison resistant serpent priest/prophet got diseased. He was never hit by a spell or a physical attack, of that I'm sure. He always remained in the far back casting blessing and fanaticism, and his army was never starving. C'tis is not in the game, so Miasma is not an option. The only hostile dominion he was under was the one from Marignon, and I don't think they have a diseasing dominion. I've searched all the provinces he's visited recently with Dark Knowledge, and none of them contains any infectuous sites. However, some of his hydras also have a disease. Now, my main question is, how did that happen? Are the sites that give disease death sites or unholy sites? If they are the latter, then I guess I haven't found them. Are the spells that give disease to the army anonymous, meaning that you don't even get a message about the event? I haven't noticed any events that inform me that I have been hit by an army-bLasting spell. Are some diseases contagious? Maybe he got it from hydras, although I think they got theirs in combat (they can get disease from battle wounds, right?). I really have no clue how this happened.
2) My 100% poison resistant vine ogre got poisoned, and took damage from poison. Granted, he was in the middle of hydra clouds and all, but still, how can this be? The only explanation I see is that he got hit by a bog beast friendly fire, but even then his 100% poison resistance should have made him immune to both poisoning itself and damage from poison, right? Again, I don't get it. I actually still have the save with this battle.
Thanks for the replies.

Re: Two questions
1) There are a bunch of sites that cause disease in Dom1, but IIRC the disease causing ones are all death or level 0. This might have changed in Dom2. These diseases were not announced so it was pretty annoying - I guess you are supposed to check all your troops every time they move?
It's also possible to take damage by being too fatigued - pass out due to high magics and get stuck in a too hot/cold land (or the heat/chill effect from even friendly troops) and you can take more fatigue and get damaged. was there a mage casting fire shield nearby?
There are some creatures that cause disease - most notably the Harvesters of Sorrow. You can also make the Bane Venom Charm that does the same thing. Both of these produced Messages, however. Several artifacts also cause disease on the wielder (as does the BVC) - Fever Fetish, Rod of the Leper King, etc.
There are random events and overland spells that cause disease, too.
2) Sounds like a bug. The poison icon also shows up for some other effects like Sulphur Haze, which requires Fire resistance to avoid damage.

Thanks for the reply.
1)No, he was always the only commander on my side when he fought. He was moslty casting priestly spells, so I don't think he ever got fatigue even over 100. He never wore any of the disease-causing artifacts. I guess it's possible that some enemy scout had BVC.
Are those overland spells that cause disease announced, i.e. do you get the message that the army has been struck by disease? I didn't get any of those, so if they are, that would be ruled out. And I think it's too early in the game for Harvester of sorrows.
So it's possible to get disease as a regular affliction in battle, even though the unit doing the damage has no special ability in its attacks? Not that he's been damaged, but I'm just curious.
Which of the diseases are infectuous, meaning that once one unit has them, they will spread to the rest of the army? How do I know how to distingush them?
2) He was fighting some militias, so I don't think there was anything special about it. As I said, the only thing I can see is that bog beast's poison spit counts as something else and not regular poison to which you can have a resistance.

Send in the saved game to IW with the story.
I am sure that they will look into it.

Re: Two questions
2. Correct, is was not possible to be immune to the poison spit. Fixed in the coming patch.
1. I guess it's from a hidden site, maybe it's in another province which you have been in previously or maybe it's not a death site.

Coming patch!?!!??!
Care to elaborate on the other contents of that patch
I've also had a MM diseased while playing Miasma... I assume it was from some site, though I never did a check of provinces to try and find out what site could have caused it.
