An idea concerning National Heroes

I was taking a look at the games in the Thunder pack (by Stormcloud Creations, I believe)....and I came across something in some of those games that I think could maybe add somemore **fun** to the game (along the same lines as the Arena Competitions)...

What about being able to send your National Heroes on quests? I don't know exactly how it could be done, possibly something along the lines of their stats and all, mixed with some die rolls. But the rewards could be unique & powerful items/artifacts....the worst that could happen could be that they could die (or, even possibly be possessed and return to the kingdom with undead/demon warriors, ect.)

I know it is not needed...I know that the devs may (and probably not) even use this idea...BUT, it would add more flavor to the game I think....and, well, I like the idea, quite frankly

Sounds cool, and it would boost luck scale too since heroes would be more important.

Hmmmm I would think that eventually the list of quests would end up being as long as the list of luck events, maybe as long as the equipment list.

But one way I can see adding it fairly simply would be to make it along the line of the Arena thing. A message says you are being asked to send someone on a quest. Quest shows up as an option for commanders that round the way participating in the arena does. Next turn you see the result.

that is exactly what my thinking was....done similar to the arena.....but the exact hows, i don't know
