At least approximately?

Re: What is the formula for shield blocking projectiles?
there was an answer around here somewhere.. i can't find the topic because i forgot which topic the answer was in.
I remember that defence doesn't help against arrows.. i'd like to see it re-stated anyway.

Re: What is the formula for shield blocking projectiles?
I'm not sure anyone knows the formula, but if a square is hit there is a roll to see if someone is hit. Only shield defence is used (and perhaps something for fewer sizepoints than 6 in the square, but that might have been in an early dom1 Version).
If size does not count there might be a N/6 chance that the arrow misses, but I'm not certain. Size do matter in some way, but I'm not sure how.
Earlier the Air Shield spell added +6 def, but now Air Shield has been removed from the formula. It is now a percentage instead. Less opaque we hope.

IMHO it's better to leave some things unknown. The Last thing we want is to turn this game into an accountants wet dream.

Yeah! Ideally, I'd like all the unit stats hidden too, and have to guess the unit's weapons and armor from its name and bitmap
