dumb questions about using mods...
From the modding.pdf file...
Quote:
All modding commands must be save in a text file with the .dm (dominions mod) extension. The dm file must be located in the directory called mods in the same place as the save game directories. If you don’t have this direc-tory then start Dominions and an empty mods directory will be created.

1. Does this mean that ANY .dm file that exists in the mods directory will be used when a game is started?
2. Once a game is started with said mods, what are the effects of deleting the .dm files from the Mods directory once the game is started?
3. If a new game uses any and all .dm files in the Mods directory, would anyone mind sharing advice on how to handle multiple mods on the same computer? Do you just keep them in seperate zip files, only unzipping them when you need them? Or keep them in a seperate folder?
4. Are the mods being used in a particular savegame listed anywhere? Say I start a game, but forget which mods I had loaded.
Thanks for all of your help!

You are given a list of the availiable mods in your "Preferences", "Mod Preferences" options. You can enable and disable those you wish. I do not know about conflicting mods and their results, probably bad and unpredictable.

I don't know about deleting, but the game will probably CTD and go crazy. For those who do not have the mod enabled, they will not be able to connect to the server in order to place their orders. You might have some sort of additional error if you delete the mods in the middle of a game.

As noted above you can choose at the preference screen. If the little description is good enough "Sachmo's UberPretender Mod" and "Zen's Cripple Ermor Mod" you should be able to tell what particular mods are which for your gaming desire.

Once a game has been started with the mods, it will not allow you to play the game again without starting the mods again. It will give you a error message saying something like "error loading sachmod.dm" or similiar giving you an idea of which mod(s) to load.

Re: dumb questions about using mods...
Also from experience I learned not to delete a mod before un-enabling it from the preferences menu. Everytime I tried to start a game I got a crash message that said mod file could not be found. Had re-create a quick mod file with the same name in order to un-enable it and then delete.
