Default Has anyone ever seen AI use troops and capture a planet

Do I need to have troops on my planets? Or just focus on keeping them safe so they don't get glassed?

Ya know, I have never seen it invade in any of my games. It seems either I fry the incoming fleet or it sterilizes my planet.

Seems only fair, since that's what I always do to it.

Tahell with their stinkin' ice breeders and gas suckers! We don't need no stinkin' alien scum in our Empire!!

I'd just use troops to invade the alien-scum planets. They (at this point) don't seem to invade yours.

Even if they did invade you ship weapon fire also kills troops before it kills citizens so they would be almost worthless for defence.

I have ruun across enemy transports with toops loaded on them before, but I have never allowed them to live long enough to see what they were up to.

Guess I'll have to let one go once and see what it does.

I've been trying to get the AI to use troops by making troops a starting tech and telling to build tons of them and the ships to fly them around in. It builds tons of troops and loads them into troop transports, but after that it's like it doesn't know what to. The troop transports just wander around aimlessly looking lost. I have never seen an AI invade me or another AI.
