Ooh, like the race portrait! Reminds me of The Flash, Viewtiful Joe, Quickman (from Megaman 2), and Cyclops (from X-Men)! And I can even see the eyes through the mask so it's not just a cop-out to avoid rendering the hardest part of the face - that portrait is perfect!
(watch Andres tell me he just used Caligari's Facial Animator tool or something... please, say it ain't so!  )

Aren't spiders more individualistic than insects? That would fit with the idea of them being builders.

The Memnorak focus entirely on their work and typically ignore others around them. Despite the odds in combat, their individual nature and tough ships consistently come out on top.
