Unwieldy Multiplayer...

I have a LAN in my apartment and would like to play a multiplayer game with my roommate. Is there any way to avoid having to load a new saved game every turn??? If not, is MM (if they are listening) planning on changing this at all?

It just seems rather tedious given that we are only 10m of ethernet cable away from each other.

Under mechanics options before you start a game you can choose hot seat and play on the same computer. if you don't want to see the other players race you need to load each saved game.
