Thank You
I often forget how truly nice this forum is when compared to other game site forums like Lucas Arts. Talk about a bunch of rude, nasty, childish, inmature, spoiled rotten, wise asses. And Lucas Arts is not alone, most game forums are like this. Only a handful are like what we have here. Thank you Shrapnel for being here for us mature gamers. And thank you all for being a part of it. After being at other forums, I find myself in need of a refreshing shower. Shrapnel is so clean and uncomplicated compared to these other game forums. Man if I want to play politics, act like a hollywood yuppie jerk, and treat people like they are nothing, then ya, I guess I can go back to the Lucas Arts forums. But I won't. To hell with those jerks and their attitudes.
Internet Rage - When a person is treated poorly on the internet and then dedicates his or her life to finding the spoiled rotten little yuppie prick who insulted them. Upon finding said prick, beats him to death with mouse and keybaord.

Re: Thank You
With the anonymity of the internet, it's easier for things to degrade. In RL, social preasure is greater - And there's the risk that the other person could hit you. On the internet, you can yell all you want and nobody knows who you are - Which isn't exactly accurate, with things like IP addresses, but - Anyway, before I wander off topic, also, in RL, you can only chat with a few people at a time and you probably know them.
The internet is like what you'd get if everybody on a bus tried to talk to each other.
On a side note, I don't like busses. This is probably a leftover from when I went to school.

Got to Agree with Atrocities. This place is one of the nicest forums I've ever been on.
Remember: He Who carries a big pointy stick stick get's blown into a crater by he who researched wave motion guns. I mean, seriously, Did you forget to build research centers?

Re: Thank You
Also:
-If you play a game of SEIV against an experienced player who has been playing it since the beta, they'll treat you with respect and simply play a good game to have fun. If you lose, it's OK.
-If you play some other (retail market) game against experienced players, they'll treat you like dirt, and if you lose, they'll further amuse themselves by saying you can't do sh*t 'cause you're a f***ing n00b.
I mean, just look to Netstorm (ancient online RTS). About half the players are of the highest level and have been playing it for years, the other half are (relatively) new. If you're one of the new guys, you're dead, and they won't hesitate to use words to describe you that would've caused them to be arrested in RL.
I've stopped playing Netstorm.
I'm still playing SEIV. (Not PBW though, but I spend a lot of time on the forums.)
